No two are alike, and none feels laboured over.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRobert Picault came south from Paris after the war and, in 1946, founded Atelier Callis in Vallauris with Roger Capron. Jean Derval joined them the following year. Together they became part of the extraordinary generation that transformed Vallauris from a traditional pottery town into one of the great centres of postwar French ceramics.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePicault later established his own pottery and developed the unmistakable palette seen here.
